I submitted my application on 12 January 2026 (Monday). Here was my personal experience
- On 3 November 2025, I booked an appointment online. The appointment timeslots were released on 12pm and it was quickly booked within 5 minutes. I successfully made the appointment and the earliest I could book was 12 January 2026.
- On 8 January 2026, I verified my e-contact method
- On 12 January 2026, I arrived at Hong Kong Licensing Office according to appointment time
- I submitted my application. The staff told me I could receive my license on the same day if I could wait for 3 hours. So I waited.
- After 3 hours, my name is called and I paid HKD900 for the fees
Documents I brought:
- Malaysia Passport (Original and Photocopy)
- Hong Kong Identity Card (Original and Photocopy)
- Physical Malaysia Driving License (Original and Photocopy)
- Proof of address
- Application form (Obtainable from Transport Department)
